Product Specialist (2014-102-SC-NEW)

 

Summary: Provide assistance to the Product Line Manager by performing cost analysis, establishing engineering projects, and assisting the Technical Marketing Director in regular and special projects.

Purpose:    Provides and nurtures customer relations activities between customer and company, sales,

sales representatives, operations and engineering by processing information and responding to

inquiries and requests.

 

 

Areas of Responsibility:

 Processes customer requests and inquiries: quotes price and delivery information to field sales, customers and/or distributors; follows up with customers/distributors and representatives on quotations; processes return orders by issuing return material authorization and validating returns; obtain approval to issue and enter credit memos; enter replacement orders; responds to order status requests, delivery expedites, surveys.

 Promptly follows up on quotes and gains orders.  This includes qualifying the opportunity, working

 with the customer to resolve any concerns, convincing the customer to buy our product, and working

 with internal resources to better position our proposal to win the order. 

 Notes the reason for lost quotes, maintains won/lost reports, and recommends/makes changes to

 assure future opportunities are won.

 Recommends/makes changes to our opportunity qualification process to make sure we are only

 quoting on opportunities that will result in winning business. 

 Provides accurate and timely responses to inquiries, questions, and customer escalations..

 Determine and/or obtain appropriate pricing strategy within guidelines and obtain necessary

 approvals; Obtain delivery lead-times and quote notes.  Recommends changes to pricing or lead

 times.

 Enter and follow-up on sample orders to assure prompt delivery

 Review open orders to assure products are being delivered in a timely fashion.  Escalate issues to get

 product delivered to customers in a timely fashion.

 Performs other information processing or services related task as required by supervisor.

Electronic Technician

Purpose:
Tunes preamps, microwave filters, subassemblies, and parts. Conducts variety of electronic and mechanical tests on preamps, microwave filters, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications, or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Interprets test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.

- Tests functional performance of preamps, microwave filters of all circuit typologies, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature cycling.

- Connects and tunes units using test equipment such as VOM, power supply, signal generator, frequency meter, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and environmental chamber.

- Interprets displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as frequency, band width, VSWR, time delay, phase track/match, distortion, voltage, inductance, and capacitance.

- Compares and analyzes test results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graph.

- Records defects and returns unit to assembly department for repair.

- Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.

- Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures, test results, and problem resolutions.

- Assists in the training of other technicians.

- Periodically assists in other production areas at the discretion of the Production Manager or Test Manager.

Requirements:
Education And Experience: High school education, or equivalent, and two to three years related experience or training.
Skills:
LANGUAGE : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

The individual filling this role will assist with the delegation of work and training of the Machine Shop personnel as well as setup and operate machinery. This is a 3rd shift position.

The ideal candidate will have a technical degree or certification plus 7 years of experience with set-up and operation of CNC HMC's, VMC's, TC's, manual machines; the ability to read blueprints and schematics and machine parts to specifications; strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Previous leadership experience is preferred. Haas and Doosan experience a plus.
